Black Thursday

So, Black Friday this year really started on Thursday. I left home about 9 pm and went to wait in line at Toys R Us. What we decided last minute to get Nate was 1/2 off and I was getting one for my nephew too. So, I went. Had a blast joking with the people around me. My friend, Nichole, joined me at 10:30.

Stood in line at Toys R Us for 2 hours and 45 minutes (could not feel my toes by midnight!). While waiting to get inside, saw a mean guy trying to but in line get thrown under a truck. That was the funniest moment of the night. A whole line of people cheering to see a guy almost get hit by this truck. Seriously, barley missed him! Got what we needed!

1:30 - drive through at Burger King. Headed to Old Navy. Thankfully, the Old Navy we went to was inside a mall, so we got to line up outside. They opened at 3 am. Didn't expect it, but totally scored a Lego Rockband for the Wii for free! Got what I needed at Old Navy (and did my $65 return). Said goodbye to Nichole and headed to Target.

3:45 - Headed to Target. (Nichole headed to Walmart). Waited outside of Target at 4:15. Again, laughed with the people around me. Some people really are so funny. Went inside at 5. Checked out at 6:00 and headed home.

6:30 crawled in my bed and got kicked in the face by Nate until he got out of my bed at 8:30. Woke up by Aaron at 10:30 because someone was on their way over.

Got a babysitter and Aaron and I headed to Costco. Came home and realized I had forgotten something at Target, so I headed back.

Seems crazy, right? Actually, I saved myself more than $450. I had a lot of fun though. I look forward to maybe adding a few friends to my group next year (although Nichole and I had a BLAST!)

Did you go out? What was your biggest score? Have a fun story about a guy getting thrown under a bus?? Let's hear it!

Sounds like you scored big. We didn't go out. Standing in lines makes me have contractions.

I thought about doing it, but decided once last year was enough for me. My Christmas shopping is pretty much covered.
I'm glad you had fun and scored big. Someday in the future, maybe I'll find something that will make it worth it.

Wow that's great that you saved that much!!! I'm not sure the standing in line in the cold would be worth it though =) It would make for some fun stories. Maybe I'll join you next year =)

Awesome deals! Bravo! I didn't see anyone get thrown under a truck- nothing that exciting. I didn't go out until around 6:30 in the morning. I don't know how much I saved- but I think it's fun to get good deals. :-)

still in the process... said...

Way to go on the big deals! I don't want to know what your total was though... :) I decided to go the night before, so I plotted my deals and went to bed at 11:30PM. At 1AM I got up and sent everything I ate for Thankgiving out one end or the other until 2AM. I went out with my neighbor/friend. She had been out since 3am at old navy and kohls. I met her at Walmart at 4:30 and we got all "positioned". She was in charge of the electronic items (not pregnant and willing to kill for the deals) and I was in charge of the kids pj's for both of our families (9 kids) We both got what we wanted, met back up, and headed for the tools and movies. The movies were retarded, so we got the tools and paid. Then headed to Target where we scored on Joe's christmas at 50% off and movies for the kids. After that I headed home to replay what I did at 1AM and then the kids were up and shawn left for work... The day turned out "great" and I was so tired I slept through the next night without peeing!!!
