Adorable

This is to prove that Maggie has more than just purple in her wardrobe. She is getting so big. She did catch the bronchitis bug that we have in our house, so now it's just Aaron that hasn't gotten it. He is going to Utah for the weekend, so hopefully we will get rid of the bug before he comes home.

A few things about Maggie

Maggie's 2 weeks old!
Since I have received a ton of e-mails with the same questions, I figured I would answer them all on the blog. That way I don't have to answer them a thousand times.

#1 - How was labor? Labor was ridiculous. I didn't even attempt to get an epidural this time since it hasn't really worked the other 3 times, and after Nate, I had extreme back pain at the injection site. I didn't want to go through that again. So, I opted for the IV drugs, which did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! The only thing that saved me was the Phenergan. The reason I was admitted was dehydration. We had the flu at our house and I had been throwing up for 3 days and just needed them to put a few bags of saline in me to help me feel a little better. Aaron was working a ton and I really needed to be able to take care of the boys. My doctor drew some blood to do a few labs and determined that I was severly anemic. He was ready to do a blood transfusion right then, except, for some reason, Maggie looked great! He held off. They were concerned that I would lose a lot of blood during the delivery, but we were blessed. I didn't hardly lose any. My doctor was very pleased.

#2 - How did we come up with Maggie's name? For most of the pregnancy, we were going to name her Charlotte Rose. We both really liked Maggie, but couldn't find a "full" name to go with it. About 2 months ago, Aaron suggested we talk about other names. He totally threw me for a loop, I thought Charlotte it was! So, we went through the list of names that we could use Maggie as a nick name. When I suggested Magdaline, neither of us liked it, but the more we talked about it, the more we liked it. So, that is what we ended up doing. Ilene's (Aaron's mom) great-grandma's name was Magdalena which is where we got Magdaline (kind-of) and David's (Aaron's dad) mothers name was Rosalie, which is were we got Rose.

#3 - How am I doing? I am doing fantastic. I am so glad to not be pregnant any more. I am back in my clothes and finally getting some much needed sleep. Maggie is such a laid back baby. Friday night, she slept through the night. Imagine my surprise when I woke up at 7:30 and hadn't fed her all night. I about died. Nate just barley started sleeping through the night. I can't believe it. The boys love her and are so good with her, even Nate. We haven't yet had any jealousy which I totally expected from him.

She's here!!!

As many of you now know, Magdaline Rose Lewis arrived early today after a painful but relatively brief labor by her loving mother. She was born at 1:23 AM, weighed 8 lbs 4 ozs and was 20.2 inches long. Despite being sick for a couple of days prior to deliver, Sassy is doing well. The doctors told her that she is quite anemic (low blood counts) but she didn't have a lot of blood loss with the delivery and seems to be doing okay. She is a little nauseated, but this is likely from the stomach flu bug that we have had at our house for the past couple days. If everything continues to be good, they should be home on Thursday evening or Friday.

Sassy is the blogger of the family, and with her at the hospital it has been left to me to post some pictures. In doing so I messed up the rest of the blog, but at least you can see these.

Little bruised on the head, otherwise perfect

Tired and relieved mama

Proud papa

So far, a good little sleeper

If Sassy has her way, Maggie will be in as little pink as possible.
Purple is ALL the rage at the Lewis house nowdays.

She did have a pink bow on though.
Couldn't be any cuter!

Recent Activities

I will hopefully have Aaron take a picture in the next day or two of me so you can see an update on me. I am schedualed for induction on the 9th, so if I haven't had the baby before then, I will be done 1 week from tomorrow. I am dilated to a 3 though, so really, I could go at any time. Aaron has had the last week off, so here are a few pictures of our activities from the week.
We had some friends come over for a BBQ on Memorial Day. This would be all the dads playing Nintendo.

Mrs. Trish, Mrs. Amber, Mrs. Janean and Kennie at his Preschool graduation

Mrs. Mae, Mrs. Grace, Mrs. Sue and Justin at his end of preschool Ice Cream Party.

Kennie and Justin went fishing with Aaron at a pond by our house. These are the fishing poles they got for their birthdays.
