Nate's 1 year Retakes

The first set of pictures were blurry and blotchy so we retook them. I am much more pleased with the new set.

The Good 'ol Days!!

So, I thought this moment was a rough one. I couldn't get Justin to stop crying and Kennie was fascinated by the ceiling fan. He wouldn't look at the camera. I would love to go back to that time. Life for us has been crazy the last few weeks.

On the 14th, Kennie had surgery. He had 5 crowns, 4 fillings and 2 root canals. The dentist said it was from his seizure medication. She see's this a lot with kids on seizure medication. On the 21st, I took Justin in to have his 1 cavity filled (w/o any drugs...it was tiny!) and the dentist informed me that Justin had a pretty bad case of strep. So, off to the doctors I went where I spent almost 3 hours sitting between the waiting room, exam room and pharmacy waiting area. I was about ready to cut of some fingers or something. Just so there would have been a reason for my kids to act crazy!! They both received a 5 day course of anti-biotics. We later found out the strep test was negative. YIKES!!!

Then, on Tuesday, after we got home from school and into our "rest time" Justin started throwing up. He threw up until about 5 in the morning Wednesday morning. Keep in mind that Aaron is doing night shifts right now so he works all night and sleeps all day! He is basically useless when it comes to childcare or helping with the house. So, later Tuesday night (about 7:00), Nate started throwing up. He threw up for a couple of hours. Then, last night, Kennie started screaming because his throat hurt. Kennie has never really thrown a temper tantrum. Until last night that is. He wanted to sleep in my bed and was kicking and screaming and throwing things. Boy, that boy is dramatic when he doesn't feel good.

Let's just say I am ready for Aaron to get off nights and back to a "normal" schedule. I haven't been able to do much scrapbooking or cleaning with the boys sick. They are as bad as Aaron when they get sick. They can't do anything for themselves. I still need to catch up on some much needed sleep, but that's going to have to wait until next week.

Who Dey?

Okay, so this post has some explaining to do. My parents booked tickets a while ago to come see the kids. One of my dad's life long dreams was to go to a NFL game. I decided after they bought their plane tickets to see if by chance, any of the 4 or 5 NFL teams close to us was doing a home Monday Night Football game. Turns out that the Bengals were kicking off their 40th season for Monday Night Football! So, we got tickets and went. This isn't my first NFL game, we went to the Colts vs. Redskins on November 17th, 2002. This was SO MUCH different. At the Colts game, we were 12 rows from the field. At the Bengals game, we were 1 row from the top! With every point and every bad play, the ground below us would shake!
Bengals won the game. Cincinnati Bengals - 27 and Baltimore Ravens 20. We spent just about the entire time of the game on our feet! So, you might be asking, what the heck is Who Dey? We were wondering the same question. From the time we parked the car (which was $25) until the end of the game, people were chanting Who Dey? Mass crowds of people would start yelling it and everyone would start cheering. We finally figured out what it meant. "Who dey! Who dey! Who dey think gonna beat dem Bengals?" I looked it up and it is actually in the Wikipedia Dictionary listed about the Bengals fans. Totally funny!
Okay, so to add the the hilarious day. You would expect only High school and College teams to have a "song" that is played after every touchdown. Oh no! The Bengals have one and the whole stadium sings in unison this song.
"Hear that Bengal growlin' mean and angry. Here he comes a prowlin' lean and hungry. An offensive brute. Run, pass or boot. And defensively he's rough, tough. Cincinnati Bengals. That's the team we're going to cheer to victory. Touchdown Bengals get some points upon that board. And win a game for Cincinnati."
There were 66,093 people in the stadium. We had a BLAST!! I wish I could put into words how much fun we had. If you like football and ever get a chance, go sit in the nosebleed section of a NFL game. The whole experience was better being at the top!!!

We got free scarfs. Aaron got pretty into the game and wrapped it around his head for the entire game.

I decided to support him, but just for a minute! It was too hot as it was. But to add a scarf to my head was WAY to much!

The crowd behind us almost looks like a cardboard replica, but we were really there!

Back to school!

Kennie and Justin started school on the 20th. They were both so excited to go to school. Kennie switched classes and has Miss Amber, Miss Trish and Miss Janean. Justin has the teachers that Kennie had last year. Miss Sue, Miss Grace and Miss Mae. They are both having a blast. Here are some pictures taken of their first day of school!!

4, 3 and 1 year pictures

Kennie is 4 - Isn't he cute?? He looks like such a big kid. Not a big boy anymore!
This is my first professional picture where Justin is actually smiling. It only took me 3 years to get a good one!! Shows he is just as stubborn as his mom!

We couldn't get Nate to stop smiling. His teeth make him look so much older than the other kids did at this point!!!

Group at Nate's Party

Here is a picture of the 4 families that helped us celebrate Nate's birthday. It's funny to think that all 4 of these families will be gone by the begining of next summer. Yikes! That's military life.

Nate turned 1!!!!

It's hard to believe that Nate is 1. Life with him is getting a bit better. He will sleep through the night most nights now. He enjoys his whole milk and he is pretty close to walking. He will take 1 or 2 steps by himself. He only weighs 25 lbs. (compared to the other boys being 32 lbs when they were 9 months old!) He gets the biggest kick out of his brothers. If they start laughing or are doing something silly, he will laugh. That and tickling him are the only ways to get him to laugh!! When he is cute, he is really cute. When he is rotten, he is really rotten!

Nate after he enjoyed his birthday cake!!

Nate smiling for the camera

Playing with his new birthday toys!

While Sadie and Jen were visiting, we went to the Newport Aqarium. Here is a picture of the 3 kids infront of the waterfall looking at the otters. Such a cute picture
